World Wetlands Day at the Mercer Slough
Come join Bats Northwest at Mercer Slough Nature Park’s World Wetland Day. This global event recognizing the significance of wetlands, including marshes, swamps, bogs, and mangroves. Areas that our extremely important to our Bats. This drop-in family friendly events features interactive activities, crafts and nature walks. Our booth will have family-friendly bat activities and we will share about our Bat efforts at the Slough.
Piper's Creek Salmon Celebration
Come on down to Seattle’s Carkeek Park to see us at our table at the Piper Creek Salmon Celebration. Reports from event organizers is that there is a Bonker number of Salmon this year in the creek! Piper’s Creek in Carkeek Park is home to one of Seattle’s most viewer-friendly salmon runs. The event celebrate their homecoming with snacks and hot drinks, music and dance performance, a salmon scavenger hunt for kids, activity booths,& “Bert the Salmon”. Salmon Stewards will help guide you. So come learn about NW bats and join in on all of the Salmon fun.
Bats NW Trivia Night at Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery
It’s Trivia Night with a Bat-ty twist! Get ready to put your thinking caps on for a fun-filled at the Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery in Greenwood from 7PM to 9PM. Let’s see if your the biggest bat nerd in the room. Come have some fun and meet other like-minded people.

We will have a booth at the Oxtober at Oxbow farms. Come learn about our Washington State Bats as you, experience the magic of fall on the farm with the perfect blend of festive fun and educational exploration at Oxtober. All About Bats
Join Barbara Ogaard of Bats Northwest and her friends of the night at the Adopt A Stream Foundation’s Northwest Stream Center on the evening of Saturday October 12th.
Barb is know as the Bat Lady. She rehabilitates injured bats for the Sarvey Wildlife Care Center and is a researcher for us. Live bats from Sarvey will also be part of the presentation, along with incredible photo images of bats from around the world and some very cool bat puppets!

The Wickedly Wonderful World of Bats at the Highland Library
Bats Northwest educator Niki Desautels is presenting at the Renton Highland King County Library. Register for this free presentation and learn all about these fascinating species who really are like nothing else on earth. Sustainamania Festival in Bothell
We will have a table at Sustainamania, the 12th annual sustainability festival in Bothell! Stop by and ask any questions, learn about Washington State 15 bat species and what you can do to help. This is a family event to learn about everyday sustainable actions you can take at home, work, school, and in the community for lasting change.
Farm Fest at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands
Come see us at our table on Saturday, September 21; 10 a.m.-3 p.m. for Farm Fest at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands, a celebration of urban agriculture and the Southeast Seattle community! This event is free and open to the public. The day is packed with performances, storytelling and with us educating the public on our amazing WA bats!
Bat Night at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands
The Tilth Alliance is hosting its' annual Bat Night at Rainier Beach Urban Farm & Wetlands!
Come join us for a night of fun and educational night about bats followed up with Woodland Park Zoo Bat Activity Trends (BAT) community science program and how you can help learn more about bats in Seattle.
6 p.m. — We will start with a family friendly activity.
6:30 p.m. — Educational talk on bats covering adaptations, behavior and biology.
7 p.m. — Instructions for the BAT community science project and a 30-minute bat observation.
Please wear appropriate shoes, and we recommend bringing bug spray and a headlamp. No RSVP necessary.
Bat Workshop at the Tukwila Community Center
Come join us and Green Tukwila, and Woodland Park Zoo for a bat talk followed by a bat walk on a paved trail around the Tukwila Community Center. You will learn about local bats and how you can help them through the Bat Activity Trends (BAT) community science program. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress for the outdoors.
Union Bay Natural Area Bat Walk
We are teaming up with the University of Washington Botanical Gardens and Woodland Park Zoo at the Union Bay Natural Area to learn about Washington's amazing bat species, and take part in Woodland Park Zoo's new community science program, Bat Activity Trends! Bats are a common wildlife species across Washington state, including urban areas, but their nocturnal habits mean that people often don’t notice them. Taking the time to learn how to observe bats can change that!
The night begins with a lecture and then end with bat observation. The program is $10 and advance registration is required.
Swifts Night Out in Monroe
Bats Northwest is joining in on the annual celebration of Vaux’s Swift migration in Monroe on September 7th. From 4:30pm until dusk, Come join other nature lovers, community groups, families, and anyone with an interest in the spectacular can enjoy an evening on the lawn to watch the Vaux’s Swifts descend into their evening chimney roost at the school. While waiting for the swifts to appear around sunset possibly also with some of our NW bats, there will be our booth and children’s activities, vendor booths, and a presentation available in the Wagner Center Auditorium.
Salmon Day at the Skagit Valley Market
Stop by our Bats Northwest table at the celebration of Salmon of the Skagit River at the Mount Vernon Farmers' Market. Many local organizations who work in local Salmon restoration will be there. Also, visit Sammy the Salmon!

Camano Island Wildlife Program - Bats in Our Backyards
Come meet Carol Ann the Friendly Education Bat! Meg Lunnum of Happy Valley Bats (bat rehabilitation and education) and Bats NW is her caregiver and is giving the talk as part of the Camano Wildlife Habitat 3rd Wednesday Presentation. Come hear about the bats in our area and beyond, how they live, and how we can support them as they eat pesky mosquitoes around our homes.

Bat Night at Nason Creek
We are partnering with the Wenatchee River Institute and Washington Fish & Wildlife for a night of bat education at Nason Creek in Leavenworth. WDFW biologists will be using mist-net to show you a bat up close, there will be educational activities and Bats Northwest will have a table and fun activities at this event. Must be registered in advance and will be required to wear an KN95 mask. The event has minimal walking required and has no bathroom onsite. Need to bring a headlamp or flashlight. Rainier Audubon Nature Festival 2024
Bats Northwest will have a table again at the Rainier Audubon Nature Festival on Saturday, June 8th at Flaming Geyser. Come enjoying the festival’s guided bird and native plants walks, kids activities and then stop by and learn about Washington State Bats and what you can do to create a bat habitat in your own backyard.
Puget Sound Bird Fest
